A letter from the County Judge Paul Pape:
Dear citizens of Bastrop County,
Serving you as Bastrop County Judge is an honor. A little over five year ago, you elected me to this office. I am giving it my very best and I'd like to continue working for you.
In cooperation with many fine folks at the County, we have made significant progress these past years. Yet, the challenges and opportunities facing Bastrop County are great. Tough choices lie ahead.
In facing these challenges, we are finding ways to be more efficient, more productive, and more resourceful in meeting the needs of our community.
These challenges call for strong leadership, a commitment to teamwork, and the courage and integrity to get things done for Bastrop County. Through perseverance, resourcefulness, and hard work, we are becoming a stronger county.
My leadership experience and devotion to Bastrop County make me the right person to continue this job.
Bastrop County needs to keep a dedicated public servant as its leader. Being your chief administrative officer – County Judge – is a full-time job. You deserve nothing less.
Let me continue working for the good of all of Bastrop County. I humbly ask for your support and your vote in this important 2018 Republican primary election. Early voting begins Feb. 20. Primary election day is March 6th. To have a voice in keeping me at the helm of Bastrop County, you must vote in the Republican primary. I do not have an opponent in the November election.
I'd appreciate your support to continue the work we have successfully begun. Thank you!
Bastrop County Judge
